Shiai

Shiai

Shiai involves three judokas.

Among these three, one acts as the judge, carefully observing the actions of the other two participants.

These three individuals are dedicated to achieving an IPPON.

The judge’s role is to set a pace that reflects their conviction, concentration, and ability to anticipate actions.

The judge holds the responsibility of guiding the other two judokas in making clear and unambiguous decisions, all of which must occur in the present moment.
The judge remains an active participant in the Shiai.

Shiai provides an opportunity for mutual assessment.

In every Shiai, there are always three winners, unless one of the three participants cannot find a way forward.
